Devious Journal Entry

Thu Sep 17, 2009, 1:19 PM
wow so its been ages since Ive updated so here it goes

School work more school work work deal with retarded people/public at work more school

this semester seems to be going well so far now that I'm over the Hulk form of strep throat I had for over a week and a half, had 3 doctor visits in one week, I usually average one doctor visit every 2-3 years so I was semi dead but all better now

Im realy excited Im taking Meteorology, Oceanography, Pre-calc ( not so exciting), and Humanities II ( not so exciting either) but my science classes are amazing and lots of fun

Ive been debating on whether to change my major or not, I love geology don't get me wrong but I love Earth science as a whole even more, and thinking about becoming a Earth/Space science teacher for secondary education. But Im gonna give it another semester and see if its what I want to do, considering Im almost done w/ my geology major, and Id have to take education classes I don know if I want to take more time to do it

I hope all is well for everyone else and school hasnt made brains into goo just yet, Im excited because its pretty much fall here and its my favorite season, plus Halloween is coming up and its my favorite holiday

well I am off to a geology meeting, cheerio for now!

Yellowstone!

Thu Jun 11, 2009, 7:18 PM
wow so its been ages since I've updated, so heres the spiel

In 5 days Im taking a two week trip to Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming, and its going to be absolutely amazing

I am going with my geology class, we will be stopping in the Badlands, Black Hills, and touring all through Yellowstone, camping and hiking all the while, its gonna be a blast and I'll make sure to get plenty of photos and I know there will be an exciting story or two :)

Speaking of exciting, be careful riding your bicycle in town, I was hit by a minivan ( Irate soccer mom maybe?) riding my bike across an intersection, she didnt even stop at the stop sign or watch where she was going, but I survived, though my back bike tire didnt, so will have to get a replacement

Im more concerned about my POS car, its on its last leg, so I'm thinking after my trip i will look into getting a new one, which is very exciting as well

I am also interning at Wesselman nature Society, working with their educational committee in designing the new ECO Academy summer camp and projects there, its a lot of fun, and hope I can use it career wise int eh future, considering pursuing Environmental Conservation and possibly being a park naturalist, so we shall see :)

Anyways hope everyone is enjoying their summer, I'll let you know if someone gets eaten by a bear on the trip XP

Summer needs to hurry up!

Sun Apr 12, 2009, 9:26 PM
So just another update of the goings on

This semester has been a beast, upper level Geology courses are kicking my butt and just tired of school really, but in another month it'll be summer break and can have maybe, possibly some free time.

Im taking a 390 Summer field excursion class to Yellowstone National Park which I am really excited about, its a geologic wonderland and I have always wanted to go there, I will be going with a group of geology students on a 10-11 day trip in Wyoming and have some good times.

I also got an internship over the summer and next fall with the Wesselman Nature Society, Im excited because Ill be helping them develop their environmental education programs for summer camps and fall programs, as well as be trained to handle some of their reptile amphibian exhibits ( too bad I cant be trained to handle their birds of prey because training started in January, maybe next year!) and will eventually lead some nature hikes in the park. Im excited because I think it will be a great opportunity to dive in a possible career field of being a park Naturalist, so we shall see.

I hope this semester is going well for everyone else, I know we've all been busy, but believe me I can not wait for this summer and warmer temps!

OK so I havent fallen off the end of the world, I just got lost in MO mountains

I updated and posted a bunch of pictures from some cool places my Igneous & Metamorphic Petrology class went to during Spring Break, we camped at St Francois State Park and went to the Johnson Shut-ins, Knob Lick Granite overlook, Silvermines, and several other cools places/sights to see, so check out some new pictures I'll be posting them over the next couple of days, theyre all about the awesome igneous rock and volcanic activity that took place in Missouri about 1.5 bya, so check it out!

Another Year Down

Tue Dec 23, 2008, 8:39 PM
Wow its been a loooooong time so lets see whats new

I survived the past semester, I think I deserve a cookie

Nah but really this past semester was pretty insane, I have to admit although I learned a lot in my Mineralogy, Paleontology, and Advanced Physical Geology classes they totally kicked my ass, next semester shall be interesting as well, Ill be taking Structural Geology and Igneous & Metamorphic Petrology :S as well as pre -calc and a humanities course, and lets not forget jazz band :) :music:

Anyways I hope everyone has a Happy Holidays, and if youre traveling do be safe, its a crazy time of year :)

I plan on getting a digital camera after Christmas ( hopefully can gain some cash along the holidays heehee) and so i hope to take actual non-crappy pictures in the near future but mainly because I will be going to Yellowstone National Park on a field excursion for a summer geology class which will be AMAZING) we will take a 10 day trip to the park, camp there for a few days, travel around and study the geologic structures and then come home at the beginning of the summer so i'm really excited.

Anyways I hope everyone has a good time w/ their families, happy holidays Ill keep you posted on whats going on, take care, and don't eat yourself into a coma :D :santa:
